Operating Conditions
Liquid temperature for submersible pumps 0 °C to +40 °C (high-temperature versions available on request); liquid temperature for dry-installed pumps 0 °C to 100 °C (high-temperature versions available on request); maximum ambient temperature for dry-installed pumps 40 °C; pH value 4 to 10 (corrosive liquids available on special request); maximum density of the pumped liquid 1200 kg/m³.
Applications
For municipal engineering, building services, industrial drainage, environmental sewage treatment and factory/mining wastewater treatment, pumping sewage, wastewater and rainwater containing solids and long fibres; stainless steel versions can also pump corrosive media. Widely used for drainage of underground building pits, industrial sumps and rainwater pits.

Note: for other materials, please enquire separately.
Features
1. Reliable design: ensures a high degree of stability and prevents sudden accidents.
2. Closed impeller: cast iron or stainless steel; an optional cutter device in high-strength wear-resistant material shreds long fibres and elongated solid matter to prevent clogging.
3. Shaft design: submersible and pipeline Sewage pumps use a shorter shaft design to avoid shaft deflection, extend the service life of seals and bearings, and run with low vibration and low noise; the submersible (long-shaft) pump immersion depth can be customised.
4. Heavy-duty ball bearings: maintenance-free lubricated bearings, pre-filled with lubricating oil, no re-lubrication needed during service life.
5. Mechanical seal system: reliable burks alloy seal set.
6. Cooling system: submersible pumps of 11 kW and above can be fitted with a motor with its own water-circulation cooling system, allowing dry installation or low-water-level installation.
7. Protection devices: an additional control cabinet can provide phase-loss, overload, under-voltage and short-circuit protection.
8. Installation: wet or dry installation; submersible pumps can be installed with an auto-coupling device purchased separately.
Technical Data
The range covers the BW, BWP, BWJ, BWJP, BWG, BWGP, BGW, BWL and BYW sub-series; diameter, flow, head and power are specified per model. For detailed data, see the user manual / selection catalogue.
Troubleshooting
1. No sound at all and no operation after the power cable is connected
a) Cable broken → Replace the cable
b) Poor contact of the power cable → Make a complete connection
c) Motor copper wire broken → Repair and rewind the coil
d) Protector tripped → Trace the cause of tripping and deal with it
e) Protector defective → Replace the overload protector
f) Fuse blown → Replace the fuse
2. Slight sound but no operation
a) Three-phase pump in phase-loss state due to poor single-phase contact → Make a complete connection
b) Three-phase pump in phase-loss state due to poor switch contact → Adjust the contact parts
c) Three-phase pump in phase-loss state due to a broken cable core → Replace the cable
d) Three-phase pump in phase-loss state due to a blown fuse → Replace the fuse
e) Three-phase pump in phase-loss state due to poor outlet cable contact → Make a complete connection
f) Single-phase break in the motor copper wire → Repair and rewind the coil
g) Locked state caused by a seized bearing → Replace the bearing
h) Capacitor of the single-phase pump defective → Replace the capacitor
i) Centrifugal switch of the single-phase pump defective → Replace the centrifugal switch
j) Impeller restrained → Remove the impeller and clear the debris
k) Voltage drop → Adjust the supply voltage
l) Generator power insufficient → Use a larger generator
3. Stops immediately after starting
a) Voltage drop → Adjust the supply voltage
b) Generator power insufficient → Use a larger generator
c) Voltage unbalance of the three-phase pump → Adjust the power supply
d) Protector defective → Replace the overload protector
e) Motor copper wire defective → Repair and rewind the coil
f) Viscosity of the pumped liquid too high → Consult the supplier
g) Mixing ratio of the pumped liquid too high → Consult the supplier
h) Temperature of the pumped liquid too high → Consult the supplier
i) Three-phase pump running in reverse → Swap any two of the three phases
4. Insufficient discharge or no water pumped
a) Wrong selection: duty head too high, resulting in insufficient flow → Replace with a suitable pump
b) Wrong selection: head loss too large → Replace with a suitable pump
c) Three-phase pump running in reverse → Swap any two of the three phases
d) Discharge pipe blocked → Clear the blockage until the pipe flows freely
e) Impeller worn → Replace the impeller
f) Strainer blocked → Clear the debris from the strainer
5. Severe vibration
a) Impeller unevenly worn → Replace the impeller
b) Reverse rotation → Swap any two of the three phases
c) Bearing defective → Replace the bearing
d) Excessive air drawn in during pumping → Check the installation of the pump
6. Electric leakage on contact or protector tripping
a) Insulation degraded, causing leakage → Stop the pump and repair it
