The drainage points in the basement of Deji Plaza sit below the municipal sewer line, so sewage cannot drain by gravity. A burks B-Lift 55L sewage lifting station was installed to collect the basement sewage and lift it into the municipal line. The external single-pump design keeps the motor and check-valve assembly outside the tank, so routine servicing needs no opening of the tank cover. Compact and easy to install, it leaves the underground space cleaner and quieter.

Since it was put into service, the basement drains smoothly and its drainage points are no longer limited by sitting below the municipal sewer line. The station runs quietly and the equipment room stays dry and tidy. With the pump mounted externally, routine checks and servicing are all done outside the tank — no opening the cover, and no disruption to the normal use of the basement.
