About This Project

This unit at Jiangshan Yue in Suzhou is a retrofit - the original drainage arrangement was no longer sufficient, so it was replaced with a burks B-Lift 55L sewage lifting station. The whole unit was placed into a square pit cut into the floor, with the pit opening flush with the floor tiles, so it does not take up the passageway. The yellow tank is paired with an external motor, the grey outlet pipe with a red valve handle runs along the wall, the white inlet pipe connects in from the wall, a burks controller is mounted on the wall, and the cables are neatly run along the wall. The hardest part of a retrofit is fitting a new system into an existing house without damaging the original floors and walls. This 55L unit sits snugly in the pit, the pipework runs along the wall, and once the pit cover is on, the floor is restored intact. Sewage is collected and lifted out, and all the drainage points in the house are back in normal use.
