Avoid Wrong Operation and Bad Use Habits That Increase Maintenance Costs

Wrong operation will increase the maintenance cost of the washer. The washer needs regular maintenance to ensure stable and efficient performance. High-pressure water will wear seals, O-rings, springs and other parts. Therefore, regular maintenance of seals, check valves and O-rings and regular oil changes will effectively extend the service life of the washer. However, it is usually wrong operation that causes extra repair costs.

1. Running the washer without water
Running without water inlet, the dry friction of the plunger and seals will cause the plunger and seals to wear out quickly.

2. Letting the washer stay in bypass mode for a long time
Bypass mode means that the spray gun is closed while the washer is running. At this time the water outlet passage is closed, and the water in the pump circulates back and forth in the pump head under the action of the plunger, so the water temperature will rise quickly. Therefore, do not let the washer run in bypass mode for a long time, because high-temperature water will soften and quickly wear the seals, O-rings and plastic valve covers. So please turn off the washer after finishing each stage of work or when leaving for a long time. In order to prevent damage caused by running in bypass mode for a long time, a temperature control valve / thermal relief valve can be installed. The principle of this device is that when the water temperature reaches the opening temperature, the protection valve opens and discharges the hot water, and at the same time automatically injects cold water to cool the system. However, even a washer equipped with a thermal relief valve cannot run in bypass mode for a long time.

3. Cavitation
Cavitation is caused by air entering the pump. The air entering the pump will damage the high-pressure pump, because air expands or contracts rapidly. The most obvious cavitation phenomena are pressure drop and a "hammering" sound. Cavitation is caused by insufficient water inlet or air entering. For example, the rated flow of the washer is 15L/min, but the water supply is only 11L/min, while the high-pressure pump still draws at 15L/min, so the insufficient part drawn in is air, which causes cavitation. Therefore, ensure that the flow of the water supply is greater than the rated flow of the washer, and ensure that the inlet pipe has no leakage.

4. Freezing
In winter, the water accumulated in the pump will freeze and damage the high-pressure pump. During winter maintenance, antifreeze can be added to the pump. In addition, when using in winter, the machine can be kept running for a few seconds after the water supply is stopped so that the accumulated water in the pump is discharged.

5. Running with no oil or low oil level
Both the high-pressure pump and the gasoline engine need lubricating oil to lubricate the transmission mechanism, such as the crankshaft, connecting rod, bearings and plunger. Lubricating oil not only lubricates but also cools the parts. Running with no oil or low oil level will cause complete damage to the pump. When there is no oil, little oil, poor oil quality, wrong oil, or water in the oil, the parts cannot be effectively lubricated, the temperature of the parts will rise quickly and lead to cracking and damage. Therefore, check the oil level frequently and change the oil regularly.
