About This Project

The drainage points on basement level 2 of the Hilton Hotel are below the municipal sewage network, so sewage cannot drain out by gravity. This project installed one burks B-Lift1000LW550 unit, with two white polyethylene tanks side by side at the rear and two external horizontal pumps at the front. A stainless steel discharge manifold combines the two lines into one upward discharge line, with blue gate valves and check valves controlling each branch, and a red-handled valve on the top discharge pipe. The dual pumps back each other up: in normal operation they alternate, and both can start together at peak flow; if one fails, the system automatically switches to single-pump operation, isolates the faulty motor and raises an alarm. The equipment is mounted on a steel frame in the concrete basement plant room, with tidy pipework, and routine servicing does not require dismantling the main pipework.

After handover, basement drainage has run smoothly; the dual pumps alternate, and when one is being serviced the other takes over, so normal use of the commercial complex is not affected. Pipework in the plant room is tidy, and daily inspection and maintenance are all carried out outside the tank without opening the tank lid, making it worry-free and convenient.
