Instructions for Use
Every pump makes a normal sound when running. If during use the head, current, vibration or sound differs extremely from normal, it is mostly a sign of an impending fault, and the pump must be checked and repaired immediately. A troubleshooting guide is attached for your reference.
(1) When lifting or moving the pump or equipment, pull the handle; never pull the cable, to avoid electric leakage.
(2) During transport, avoid collisions and handle with care.
(3) Use a leakage circuit breaker with this product, to prevent electric shock accidents caused by insulation deterioration as the product ages.
(4) Power voltage check: (A) single phase: 220V; (B) three phase: 380V; (C) when the pump runs under load, whether the voltage is sufficient (the voltage must be the same as stated on the nameplate).
(5) The pump must be used at the rated voltage; the allowable voltage variation must be within ±10%.
(6) Use the earth wire properly (the green core wire is the earth wire).
(7) Power frequency check: before use, confirm that the power frequency marked on the product matches the frequency used.
(8) If the cable is not long enough and must be extended: pay attention to the thickness, size and length of the wire; improper extension causes voltage drop, difficult motor starting and shortened product life. The joint of the wires must not be put into water.
(9) Confirm the direction of rotation: (A) single phase: the direction of rotation is fixed before leaving the factory; (B) three phase: if it runs in reverse, simply swap any two of the three power wires (if the pump runs in reverse, it vibrates greatly, sounds abnormal, delivers less water, and the motor may burn out).
(10) Confirm that starting is normal; if it cannot start, check whether the impeller is stuck due to rust.
(11) Do not bury the pump in sludge or sand piles, and do not let debris block the pump piping; raise the pump as much as possible so that the bottom of the pump is exposed.
(12) Use discharge piping of the same specification as the pump; using piping smaller than the pump outlet increases the head loss due to improper piping and reduces the discharge, so please be careful.
(13) When the pump is running, the water level must not be lower than the pump body; the pump motor lacks water cooling, its temperature rises quickly, and the motor may burn out.
(14) Warning! The pump must not be used for flammable or explosive liquids such as petrol, fuel oil or kerosene, and must not be used in flammable or explosive places.
Inspection, Repair and Maintenance
When inspecting the pump on site, make sure the power switch is turned off before carrying out the inspection.
(a) Removing debris from the pump: after pumping water containing silt, especially cement, let clean water flow in to wash the inside of the pump for a few minutes before stopping; if this is not done, silt, cement or debris will block the impeller and the inside of the body, and the pump will not start next time.
(b) Insulation resistance: check regularly every month; measure the insulation resistance between each phase of the motor and the earth wire with a 500V insulation resistance meter, and confirm that it is 10MΩ or above (if the result is below 10MΩ, repair immediately).
(c) Shaft seal and lubricating oil check: the service life of the shaft seal, calculated on pumping clean water, is about 5000~6000 hours, so check the lubricating oil at least every six months; when the lubricating oil becomes turbid or contains bubbles, repair immediately and replace the shaft seal and lubricating oil.
(d) Storage: if the lubricating oil check, impeller wear check and insulation resistance check are done before storage, the pump can be used immediately next time without waiting (and if repair is needed, there is ample time to do it well). The inside and outside of the pump can also be washed with clean water, and after the water has completely dried, store it in a dry indoor place.
