Introduction (from the manual)
The BKC and BKM pumps are horizontal single-stage centrifugal pumps, manufactured from stainless steel plate by advanced processes such as stamping, bulging and welding. They are compact, light in weight, energy-efficient, resistant to mild corrosion and low in noise, and can replace similar foreign products.
Model designation
Example BKC 80-65-200/22: BK is a stainless steel horizontal single-stage centrifugal pump, C is the close-coupled type (M is the coupling type), 80 is the suction diameter (mm), 65 is the discharge diameter (mm), 200 is the nominal impeller diameter (mm), and 22 is the motor power (kW). The manual covers both BKC (close-coupled) and BKM (coupling type); this page takes only the BKC close-coupled part.

Installation conditions
The pump must be installed horizontally. The following naming applies to the pump: when installed horizontally, the horizontal direction is the suction inlet (the medium enters the pump here) and the vertical direction is the discharge outlet. Installation details:
●The pump should be installed in a ventilated, dry and non-corrosive place.
●The pump inlet should be located where the water temperature is below 40 C.
●Ensure sufficient space around the pump for heat dissipation.
●The pump should be installed on a solid, flat surface.
●Fix the base on the foundation (cement foundation).
●Vibration dampers (rubber pads) must be installed.
Curve conditions
The following conditions apply to the performance curves:
●All tolerances comply with ISO 9906.
●The curves are based on a constant speed of 2900 rpm or 2950 rpm, 3 x 380 V.
●The test medium is clean water at 20 C, free of solid impurities, with a kinematic viscosity of 1 mm2/s.
●The curves are based on a kinematic viscosity of 1 mm2/s.
●When selecting a pump, choose by the pump's most frequently used duty point.
Operating conditions
●Pumped liquid: clean, thin, non-flammable and non-explosive liquid.
●Liquid temperature: minimum -20 C, maximum +100 C.
●Ambient temperature: maximum +40 C.
●Altitude: maximum 1000 m.
●Maximum system pressure: 10 bar.
Motor
The BKC (close-coupled) pump uses a totally enclosed fan-cooled two-pole motor with a custom shaft extension. Protection rating IP55; insulation class F; standard voltages at 50 Hz: 1 x 220 V and 3 x 380 V. (The BKM coupling type uses a standard motor and is outside the scope of this page.)
Minimum inlet pressure - NPSH
At maximum flow, if the inlet pressure is too low, cavitation1 will occur inside the pump. To avoid cavitation, ensure the pressure at the pump inlet is at least Pb (bar). Note: NPSH must be calculated in the following five situations:
1. When the liquid temperature is high;
2. When the liquid flow is far above the rated flow;
3. When used in a low-pressure system;
4. When the suction lift is high;
5. When the inlet pipe run is long.
We recommend the following formula: H = Pb x 10.2 - NPSH - Hf - Hv - Hs. H = available maximum suction lift (m); Pb = atmospheric pressure (bar), which can be set by altitude (at 2000 m, Pb is 0.8 bar); NPSH = Net Positive Suction Head (m), judged according to the specific situation; Hf = suction pipe friction loss (m), at maximum flow; Hv = vapour pressure (m), determined by the liquid temperature and the Hv scale; Hs = safety factor, minimum 0.5 m. If the calculated H is positive, the pump operates at the maximum suction lift H; if the calculated H is negative, the inlet pressure must have at least a head of H.

Troubleshooting
1. The motor does not turn on starting - Cause -> Remedy: a. pump circuit failure -> check and repair; b. no power -> check the power supply; c. overload fuse (thermal protection) blown -> replace the fuse; d. loose or broken wire ends -> connect or replace; e. motor coil damaged -> rewind the motor coil or replace the motor; f. valve not fully open -> open the valve; g. impeller jammed -> clear the debris inside.
2. The motor starter overload trips when switching on - Cause -> Remedy: a. fuse blown -> replace the fuse or adjust the thermal protection; b. overload trigger contacts or cable connector failed -> replace the starter; c. loose power wiring or power fault -> re-tighten the power cable; d. motor coil failed -> rewind the coil or replace the motor; e. mechanical part of the pump blocked -> repair the mechanical parts of the pump; f. voltage too low -> report it to the relevant authority and improve the voltage.
